What can you do at the library? You can borrow books, magazines, CDs, audio books and talking books free of charge. And for 10 kr. you can hire a film for three days.

It doesn’t cost anything to join the library and get a library card. When applying for a library card you must be able to show proof of your identity. Children under the age of 13 must have permission from a parent or guardian. If you should lose your library card, get in touch with us as soon as possible so that we can stop the card. If you don’t do this you will be liable for any items borrowed on the card. A new library card costs 10 kr.

Return your loans in time – it’s in your own interest!

• books can be borrowed for a period of 28 days
• if someone else has reserved the book this period is reduced to 14 days
• magazines and CDs can be borrowed for 14 days
• films for 3 days

You can renew your loans if the books have not been reserved by someone else.

Computers

You may use the library’s computers free of charge. It is also possible to book a computer in advance. Read more about this in on the library’s website. See Bookings.

The Library Catalogue

If you have the use of a computer with Internet access then you can use the catalogue in special ways. Click here.

PIN-code

If you get a PIN-code to use together with your library card then you can access the catalogue to

• see which books you have borrowed
• renew your loans
• reserve books which are out on loan
• see which books you have reserved
• suggest books, CDs etc. that you think the library should buy

Inter Library Loans

If the library does not have a book you want to read we can arrange a loan from another library. The same applies to newspaper and magazine articles.

Fees and fines

• reservations cost 5 kr per book (no charge for children’s books)
• the hire of a film is 10 kr. for three days
• microfiche from SVAR 20 kr. per volume
• charges are made for all overdue items except children’s items. If you have books or other items that are overdue more than 30 days you will receive an invoice from us.
